Who we are and what this policy covers
Snippet is operated by Yunikon Labs Software Development Services ("Yunikon Labs," "we," "us," or "our"), a business registered in the Philippines. Snippet connects pet owners ("fur parents") with independent pet care professionals for bookings, and includes a symptom-check feature to help fur parents decide what to do next when a pet seems unwell.
This policy applies to everyone who uses the Snippet mobile app or the web pages we host at snippet-api.yunikonlabs.com — fur parents, pet care professionals, and anyone who visits a page we operate. It explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.
This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, which governs your use of Snippet more broadly. If you don't agree with this policy, please don't use the app.

Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us directly
- Account information — name, email address, phone number, and a password, or the basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) Google shares with us if you choose to sign in with your Google account instead.
- Pet profiles — your pet's name, species, breed, date of birth, and photo, plus any vaccination, medical, insurance, or pet passport records you choose to add.
- Professional profiles — for professional users: business/clinic name, specialization, clinic address, license or certification documents, and availability. License and certification documents may include a government-issued professional ID or number, which we collect solely to verify you are who you say you are before your listing is shown to fur parents.
- Photos you take or upload — for account and pet profile pictures, for the symptom-check feature (see Section 3), and for professional license/certification verification.
- Booking activity and notes — appointments you request, accept, decline, or complete, and any notes you or the other party attach to a booking.
- Reviews and ratings you write about a professional after a completed booking.
- Anything you send us directly — support requests, emails, or other messages to us, including anything you choose to include in them.
- Waitlist sign-ups — if you enter your email address on our website to be told when Snippet becomes available, we store that address, whether you identified yourself as a fur parent or a pet care professional, and the date you signed up. We use it to send you a single announcement when Snippet launches, and nothing else. It does not create an account, it is not added to any mailing list, and you can ask us to delete it at any time at raymund.consulta@yunikonlabs.com.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Precise device location — with your permission, we read your device's GPS location (via your phone's location services) to show your distance from nearby professionals and to sort search results by proximity. You can also type in an address instead; see Section 2.3 for what happens to typed addresses. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings — the app will simply stop being able to show distance-based results.
- Push notification token — a device identifier issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging, so we can deliver booking-related notifications to your device.
- Basic technical and log data — things like your device's operating system, app version, IP address, and request timestamps, captured in our server's ordinary access logs for security, debugging, and abuse-prevention purposes.
2.3 Information from third parties, and information we send to them
- Google Sign-In — if you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us, as permitted by your Google account settings.
- Address lookup and maps — when you type an address (for example, setting a clinic address or picking a location on the map), we send that text to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to convert it into map coordinates, and vice versa. Map screens in the app load map tiles directly from OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which — like any map provider — receive the device's IP address and the coordinates/zoom level being viewed. We don't use Google Maps for this; Snippet uses OpenStreetMap, an independent open-mapping service.
What we don't currently use: Snippet does not currently integrate any analytics or crash-reporting SDK (no Firebase Analytics, no Crashlytics, no Mixpanel, no Sentry, and no advertising SDK of any kind). If that changes, we'll update this policy before it does.
3
The symptom check feature, specifically
Snippet's "Scan My Pet" feature lets you take or upload a photo of your pet and answer a short set of questions about symptoms, duration, and behavior. Snippet uses that photo and your answers to suggest a possible next step (for example, which kind of professional to see, and how urgently).
This processing happens on our own systems — the photo and your answers are not sent to any third-party AI vendor. We don't use an external vision or language-model API to analyze the photo.
Photos submitted through the symptom-check feature are stored on our servers in the same way as other photos you upload (see Section 7, Data retention). We do not currently use symptom-check photos to train any third-party model, and we do not share them with anyone other than, where relevant, the professional you go on to book for that concern. If we ever intend to use symptom-check photos to improve a model in a way that goes beyond providing you the feature itself, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first, rather than doing it silently under this same sentence later.
This is guidance, not a diagnosis. The symptom check is built to help you decide whether and how urgently to see a professional. It is never a substitute for an actual licensed veterinary professional, and anything that seems urgent should go to a vet directly rather than wait on the app. See our
Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.

How we use information
- To operate the core service — creating and securing your account, matching fur parents with professionals, scheduling, and displaying booking details to both sides of an appointment.
- To run the symptom-check feature described in Section 3, and show you a suggested next step.
- To send you notifications — for example, that a booking request was accepted, declined, or completed.
- To verify professional accounts — reviewing license/certification documents before a professional's listing becomes visible to fur parents.
- To keep Snippet safe — detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, impersonation, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To respond to you — when you contact us for support or with a question.
- To comply with the law — including responding to valid legal requests, and keeping records we're required to keep.
- To maintain and improve the app — diagnosing technical problems and understanding, in general terms, how the app is used, based on the ordinary server logs described in Section 2.2 (we do not currently do this through any dedicated analytics SDK — see Section 2).
5
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use any advertising SDK. We share information only in the following situations:
- With the professional you book — booking-relevant information (like your pet's name, the reason for the visit, and any notes you add) is shared with the specific professional you've booked, so they can prepare for the appointment. The same applies in reverse: your professional's business information is shown to you.
- Publicly, where you've made it public — a professional's business profile (name, specialization, clinic address, availability, rating) is visible to fur parents browsing the app, as the whole point of a professional account is to be found. Reviews you write are visible to other users under your display name.
- With service providers who help us run Snippet — currently:
- Firebase / Google — for push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and, if you use it, Google Sign-In.
- OpenStreetMap — for address lookup (Nominatim) and map display (map tiles), as described in Section 2.3.
- Our infrastructure/hosting provider, purely to run the servers Snippet's backend lives on.
- For legal reasons — if required to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights, property, or safety of Snippet, our users, or the public, or investigate suspected fraud or abuse.
- In a business transfer — if Yunikon Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we'll let you know if this happens and what it means for your data.
6
Cookies, tokens, and similar technologies
The Snippet mobile app doesn't use browser cookies — it stores a session/authentication token securely on your device so you stay signed in, and a push-notification token as described in Section 2.2. The web pages we host (like this one) don't set tracking cookies either. If that ever changes — for example, if we add analytics to these web pages — we'll update this section first.
7
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service to you. Concretely:
- Account and profile data (yours and your pets') is kept while your account exists.
- Photos and documents you upload (profile photos, pet photos, symptom-check photos, medical/vaccination/insurance/passport records, professional license documents) are stored on our servers for as long as the related account or pet profile exists.
- Booking records may be kept for a longer period after a booking is completed, including after account deletion, where we have a legitimate business or legal reason to do so (for example, resolving a dispute or complying with recordkeeping obligations).
- Deletion on request — if you delete your account, or ask us to delete your data, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except for the limited records described above that we're required or entitled to keep. Contact us at the email in Section 14 to request deletion.
8
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including transmitting data over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and hashing account passwords rather than storing them in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, though, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at the email in Section 14.
9
International data transfers
Some of the service providers described in Section 5 — including Google/Firebase and OpenStreetMap — may process data on servers located outside the Philippines. Where this happens, we rely on those providers' own safeguards and our agreements with them to protect your information consistently with this policy.
10
Your rights and choices
Under the Philippines' Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), you have the right to:
- Be informed that your personal information will be, is being, or was processed, including the extent and purpose of that processing.
- Access your personal information that we hold.
- Object to certain kinds of processing, including processing for direct marketing.
- Correct any inaccurate or outdated personal information.
- Erasure or blocking of your personal information, under certain conditions — for example, where it's no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected for, or you withdraw consent.
- Damages, where you've suffered damage because of an inaccurate, unlawfully obtained, or unauthorized use of your personal information.
- Data portability, where technically feasible, to obtain a copy of your data in an electronic format.
Some of these you can exercise yourself in the app — editing your profile or pet records, or deleting a pet. Account deletion isn't yet a self-service action in the app; see how to request it. For anything else, including a full data-access request, contact us at the email in Section 14 and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
You can also turn off push notifications at any time from your device's notification settings, and revoke location permission from your device's app permission settings.
11
Professional accounts and public information
If you register as a pet care professional, your business name, specialization, clinic address, availability, and aggregate rating are shown publicly within the app to fur parents browsing for professionals — this visibility is the intended purpose of a professional account. License and certification documents you submit are used only for our internal verification process and are not shown publicly.
12
Children's privacy
Snippet is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Professional accounts additionally require the user to be at least 18 years old, consistent with our Terms of Service. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll take appropriate steps to remove it.
13
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example as Snippet adds features like payments. If a change is material, we'll update the effective date above and let you know through the app before it takes effect.
